This is my Christmas acrostic poem. Enjoy!!

Christmas Acrostic Poem

Christmas ornaments decorate the lush, green tree beautifully
Happiness and joy fill people’s hearts with warmth
Reindeer obediently lead Santa’s sleigh with pride, gliding it through the air to deliver presents to the children of the world.
Icing on delectable cookies makes Santa jolly and plump.
Santa enjoys hearing the sweet sound of Christmas carols being sung by choirs.
Tree lights glow and flicker brightly, making houses look festive.
Mistletoe is hung lovingly on the doors of people’s houses to welcome guests.
A special time to appreciate family and friends
Stockings are filled with treats and goodies for those who have been well behaved all year.

Rainbow Water Density Tower

Rainbow Water Density Tower

Aim - To observe how substances with different densities interact

Materials
Glasses - 1 per group
Food colouring (red, blue, green and yellow - you can make purple and orange by combining two colours)
Sugar or Salt (and measuring spoon)
Measuring cup - 1 per colour (you can have 6 colours to work with, or limit it to 4 colours)
Measuring syringes
Water (warm water from a tap or kettle)
Plastic spoons to mix the sugar and food colouring in the water
Pots of water to rinse syringes between each colour
Plastic plates or trays to protect the table from sticky sugar water

Steps (Method) we took to do the experiment:
Put two spoons of sugar in the yellow dye. Put 6 in the red dye. Put 4 in the green dye. Finally,y put 8 in the blue dye. l  Get the blue dye and with the syringe collect 200mls. Squirt the blue dye into the glass. Now ow. collect 200ml of red dye. This time carefully,  get the syringe, go deep down and squirt. Now get 200mls of green dye. Again carefully squirt slowly. Do the exact same for the yellow. Wash the syringe every time before you add the next coloured dye.
Once you have finished squirting all the colours they should be separated into different lines. If you do it to fast the water will turn balack or dark green.

Results
All of the colours had different amounts of sugar, causing the colours to have different densities and refuse to mix together. Since it won’t mix, it instead makes a tower of all the colours from the first colour(the one with the most density) to the last colour laying on the top.it goe in order from the most density at the bottom and the least density at the top.

Explanation
Look at the websites below and also do research of your own - Then write a paragraph explaining ‘the science’ behind the experiment.  Why do we see the results that we did?

My sunflower process- setting description

Anoushka
P1 intro
P2 seeds and root growing
P3 stem grows and head starts blooming
P4 Head blooming and fully growing
P5 Seeds falling and dying process
P6 Conclusion

introduction
The bright vibrant and tall sunflower stands proudly in the patch of  sunflowers. Like all living things a sunflower has a long process. This means it grows at its own pace.It will finally become a lovely sunflower.

Paragraph 2 -seeds and roots growing and germinating
The growth process of a sunflower begins with a sunflower seed. There are all kinds of  sunflowers. The seeds outer layer is black with white stripes and dots and the inside. It is a peachy colour and is the shape of a teardrop. The  root is just starting to grow and will soon become a big and tall sunflower.it looks like a mouse tail  or an earthworm. The root will start growing up and out of the soil
above the soil.A small, green shoot grows from the seed.

Paragraph 3 stem grows and head starts blooming
After a while the stem will gradually grow taller. It will grow taller by giving it lots of water and by putting it in the sun.  It also starts to develop light  green leaves that are also fragile. Overtime the plant will gain more and more leaves. When the roots grow more and more  stabilizing the plant. It will also continue to mature.

P4 Head blooming and fully growing
As the sunflower grows taller and sturdier  a bud will eventually form.
In the heads first stage it is a light green the bud looks a bit like a tulip. Overtime the  bud get brighter and more colourful. It starts to get different shades of green. The petals start to uncoil and start to bloom. After a month  or so the head will become a bright and beautiful sunflower plant.

Paragraph 5 seeds falling and dying process
Then a swarm of seeds start to develop in the centre of the sunflower.Eventually they become darker and darker.Once the flower has been pollinated , the  seeds
will start to  fall or will get blown away. They will  spread out in the surroundings. Lastly at the end of its long  process the sunflower withers and dies.It starts to collapse and fall to the ground. However a new generation of sunflower will grow once again.

                                                              Conclusion

The sunflower goes through many different stages. It is a beautiful and mesmerizing plant. It lives for around 120 days.

my setting description writing island paradise

Anoushka -

Paragraph 1 atmosphere

Paragraph 2-touch,texture
Paragraph 3 -smell ,hear
Sum up the overall feeling

paragraph 1
The tropical paradise looked idyllic and mesmerizing it was a calm and peaceful day.The water was
as clear as glass. The island was isolated and remote.A fish on the sea shore smelt like ghastly rotten eggs.the sand was as hot as a burning barbecue .The clouds looked like cotton candy in a candy shop.people were sitting under umbrellas drinking refreshing cocktails and reading books  people were tanning under the sun like a toaster bronzing bread. The sun reflected off the water like  an image reflecting off a mirror.there was a small deck on which people could fish from and it was made of wood at the end was a little seat.Just behind the sand were lush green trees which looked like broccoli

The fishing deck was as smooth as fabric and the sand  felt soft and grainy. The water felt as thick as molasses, yet slipperier than ice.Trees surrounded the Island and  felt soft and pokey. The umbrella looked torn because of the sun's rays. The log which was under the water was rough on the outside and soft on the inside.

The water smelt so salty.birds were chirping as if they were singing a song.the water was gently swaying and lapping over the sand. When people walked the sand made a crunching sound.the seagulls kept saying quack, quack, quack, quack.

Overall the place was exquisite and a fun place to go to.There were lots of things to do like sit under umbrellas, sunbathe, swim, play in the water and go fishing

The force prediction

The Force Level 3 June 2018 Pg. 28

One day Mum ,Dad, Max and Harper went on a picnic across the bridge.Suddenly splash ! They fell in the water. When they were playing human cannonball Harper got scared. Mx, who was one of the children, made an excuse to go to the toilet so that he could avoid playing with Pushy kid  because he was being rude and rough. There Max met the legendary Yoda who had a connection with the force. He had a disc\ussion with the kids  and then they jumped with great joy!!!

We give our prediction a 2 /10 score. We got  the first bit right about going on a picnic and that he had a discussion with Yoda. But it was actually Harper who had a talk with Yoda, not Max. And we got everything  else wrong sadly!

Maths telly graph about fruits

my speech- Why we should save Orangutans from extinction

They live in Sumatra and Borneo.
They eat leaves and plants.
Some people might describe them as looking cute and cuddly.
They are orange in colour and look a bit like us!
Can you guess what I’m talking about?  Orangutans! I firmly believe that we should save these amazing animals from extinction.  They are beautiful creatures, and are our closest living relatives but unfortunately, they are getting close to extinction because of issues largely caused by humans.  We need to take action and fight for these vulnerable animals.

They are getting extinct
Firstly, the population of orangutans is declining dramatically. Their population is dropping because of habitat loss from people cutting down trees to make farms.  Orangutans are having to cram into smaller areas and eventually there will be nowhere for them to live. Orangutans depend on their habitat for their survival. Their habitat provides them with food, water and shelter.  Forests in Borneo and Sumatra are also being cut down so that the wood can be sold to build houses, furniture or made into paper. The poor orangutans are occasionally hunted and eaten by the indigenous people of Borneo as well as migrant loggers who don’t have a problem eating primate bushmeat. Orangutans are  primarily threatened by human activity and development. Researchers have said that the Borneo orangutans are classified as endangered and the Sumatran orangutan is classified as critically endangered. There are approximately only 7,300 Sumatran orangutans and 45000 to 69000 Bornean orangutans left on Earth today.

Close to Humans
The orangutan is  the closest living relative to humans, in fact we share 97% of our DNA.  Fascinating right? So wouldn’t we want to keep this creature around? The word orangutan comes from the Malay word orangutan meaning human or person of the forest.  Features shared by both orangutans and humans include enameled molar teeth with flat surfaces, greater asymmetries between the left and right side of the brain and similarly  shaped shoulder blades. A hole in the roof of the mouth that was supposedly unique to humans also presents in orangutans. We can also learn a lot about how to raise children by studying how they look after their kids.  Research has found that they are the most deeply loving, supportive nurturing and devoted mothers. Their spatial skills and ability to read body language is also far more advanced than us humans. In the vanishing lowland of borneo, new research is underway to uncover the unique cultural behaviors in wild orangutans. We may be able to learn more about the evolution  of human beings. We are able to get a fascinating look into history and the way different primates evolved leading to us humans who exist today. We can learn about them and it may help us live and survive in the future.

People from all around the world have killed around 1 million orangutans yet not one of them has killed a human.  Is it far that we kill them when they haven’t done any harm to us? Thankfully, people are setting up projects to save these fascinating creatures and bring their population back to the right level.  SAVE THE ORANGUTANS!

Teacher Comment

Well done Anoushka!  Your speech was really well written and you put a lot of effort into preparing for your speech.  You spoke at a good pace with suitable volume. Next steps: use some hand gestures, expression and a forceful tone when needed to get people’s attention.
